Optics

Optics applications include formation of low-cost micro-diffractive elements for light control, laser-beam steering, complex waveguides, etc.

Diffractive laser beam steering structures (right) in plastic:

Microlenses converted from silicon wafer pattern to thin plastic film. Each lens is less than 1 mm diameter.

Embedded polymer waveguides

Various polymer waveguide arrays are molded into low index polymer matrix (top row, bottom left) and filled with high index polymer (bottom, rt) before capping to hermetically seal the waveguides.
